Architects include James P. Starkovich and Thuyen Q. Nguyenphuc who together have for over 40 years
provided efficient, creative and exciting architectural solutions to a wide variety of diverse and distinguished
projects and clients. Together our professional staff includes experienced technical support members, utilizing state-of-the-art
technology, catering to our clients special needs. Our primary services include: Architecture; Master Planning; and Interior
Design. We specialize in unique hard-to-solve projects that require special attention at all levels of the approval
process and projects that require special creative design solutions that can bring the highest level of success
to your special project. Our Story:
The firm was originally founded in 1972 by architect James P. Starkovich who was later joined by Thuyen
Q. Nguyenphuc as partner under the name of Habitec: Architecture & Planning to provide
Architecture, Master Planning and Interior Design of the highest quality and creativity to the new frontier of high-tech
electronic companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, which would eventually be called "Silicon Valley". After
more than 25 years and 600 completed projects, many of which are displayed here, and serving the largest and
smallest of sophisticated clients and developers, in 1995, James P. Starkovich then founded EarthStar Architects, to
not only continue his successful architectural practice and tradition, but also to create a firm more selective
in clients and projects. And a firm that reflects an exceptional "one-on-one" client service and
one that selects "one-at-a-time" distinguished projects. With a similar vision, Thuyen also founded Charrette
Design, many projects of which are also displayed here, jointly and in collaboration, as part
of EarthStar Architects. Since then, after more than 15 additional years, this successful design philosophy and association
between EarthStar Architects and Charrette Design has led to the completion of many recognizable
award winning projects, which are not only located in California and Silicon Valley, but nationally and internationally. - Please maximize
